My Approach

As an integrative therapist, I am able to work with a variety of concepts and approaches. I believe that every person is unique and therefore no one size fits all. I strive to work collaboratively to develop an understanding of you and your personal needs, tailoring the approach most suitable for you. I also believe that my rich Indian cultural background is reflected in my approach as I tend to incorporate not only emotions but the body, spirituality, cultural and lingual aspects of my client's life. I draw from a wide variety of approaches including person-centred, attachment, existential approach. I also incorporate experimental methods, CBT and mindfulness techniques into sessions as appropriate. I have experience in working with issues including, but not solely depression, anxiety, self esteem, sexuality, changes in life, relationships, cultural issues and in general gaining a deeper, fulfilling understanding of life.

My approach to therapy work is client centred. I believe in exploring and reflecting on issues together, in a safe, non-judgemental space where every emotion and feeling is allowed to surface. Working collaboratively with my clients, I strive to make therapy a healing, transformative experience.

About Me

My name is Shivangi and I am an experienced fully accredited integrative psychotherapist. I hold an Advance diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling from UK and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from India. I offer in person therapy in West London and also remotely via Zoom. Having arrived in the UK over a decade ago, I understand array of challenges that moving countries and cultures can bring, whether it is a new language, a change of career or even adjusting to the change in natural environment and weather. My special interest is in helping such individuals in navigating through these challenges.

In addition to being a psychotherapist , I am also a trained Indian classical dancer and I wherever possible, I also try to bring in body movements in the therapeutic space to help realise the mind- body connections.
